The unique history of the city of Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv – Jaffa is the largest and most central city in Israel. Its path as a Hebrew city began in 1887 when the rule in Israel was still in the hands of the Ottomans. The first neighborhood built in the southern part of the city, bordering Jaffa is Neve Tzedek and immediately after that, the initiative began to build a new Hebrew neighborhood called Ahuzat Beit. Even before the establishment of the state, Tel Aviv was a central focus and therefore in this city the Declaration of Independence was also read by the first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion. After the establishment of the state, the city of Tel Aviv merged with the city of Jaffa and it began an accelerated urban development that made it the center of Israel’s economy, culture, media and art.
Tel Aviv boasts a glorious history and houses of preservation from its various periods, along with modern construction of skyscrapers. It is a city without a break with a broad leisure culture, a dominant municipality, a quality population and one of the best education systems in the country. These advantages have led us to establish in the city many and varied projects, in which we express the qualities that characterize us.
The origin of the city’s name is a Hebrew translation given by the writer and translator Nahum Sokolov, to Benjamin Zeev Herzl’s utopian novel, “Altnoylnd” (Old-New Land). The choice of “Tel Aviv” was, according to Sokolov, since “Tel” is a place where there are antiquities and “Spring” which symbolizes renewal.
The meaning of the name corresponds with the values we espouse, which is why we chose to call the company “Altnoylnd”. The name also reflects our vision, which includes the correct and accurate renovation of old complexes and buildings, which become attractive, designed real estate complexes with new animals.
